This article highlights the two methods for reassigning process responsibilities. Task Delegation is used to grant step actor privileges for specific process instances. Out of Office Delegation is a planned approval delegation enabled by the ASK support team.
Task Delegation
This is done on a Process Instance using the “Delegate” Button located here:
When an actor delegates, they are granting a user to be an actor within the current step. This means that the actor has given another user the ability to take action on their behalf. Any actor can choose to delegate a process when help is needed to take the appropriate action.
Please note that users are unable to delegate action when multiple users are required to take action (e.g. Submittal Comments Steps).
Out of Office Delegation
This feature is set by contacting ASK Support. This should be used to delegate another user to take action on a user’s behalf during their planned absence.
Please make sure to provide the following:
- Dates that the user will be out of office.
- E-Builder user who will be responsible for the work.
Please note that a separate ASK request should be submitted when the user returns to the office.
