Account Creation
- In order to receive an account for the CTA e-Builder environment, a PMR (Project Membership Request) process must be submitted for the new user by an existing CTA e-Builder user. Once the process has been submitted and approved by the Project Manager, the new user must attend the CTA e-Builder Introduction Training prior to account creation.
- Please click here in order to access our instructions on how to submit a PMR.
Introduction Training
- CTA e-Builder Introduction Training is required for all users in the CTA e-Builder environment. This training must take place prior to your CTA e-Builder account creation. This training is CTA specific and if you have taken this training in the past, proof of training attendance is required.
- In order to register for e-Builder Introduction Training, please click here.
- Note: If you have had an e-Builder account with a different e-Builder environment, this does not mean that you have an account in the CTA e-Builder environment or that you can skip the CTA e-Builder Intro Training.
Deactivation Policy
- When an employee is departing a project, the departing employee’s supervisor must submit a PMR (Project Membership Request) process to deactivate the employee’s e-Builder account.
- The supervisor must include whom the departing employee’s e-Builder responsibilities are transferring to.
- This includes all responsible step actor roles.
- While this transfer of responsibility may only be temporary until a replacement for the departing employee is found, it is critical to reassign the departing employee’s step actor roles to ensure no items within e-Builder are left without a responsible step actor.
- The supervisor must include whom the departing employee’s e-Builder responsibilities are transferring to.
- If a user does not log into the CTA e-Builder environment for 120 days, they will receive deactivation notice email. The user will have 48 hours to login to the CTA e-Builder environment from the time they receive their deactivation notice. If a user fails to login to the CTA e-Builder environment within this timeframe, their account will be deactivated.
- Note: An existing CTA e-Builder user may submit a PMR in order to request reactivation for a deactivated user.

Company Change:
- If a user changes companies, a new CTA e-Builder account must be created. The user must have a PMR submitted on their behalf and it must be approved by the Project Manager. The users new account username will be created with a number added to the end of their previous username.
- Example: The users first CTA e-Builder username was cta_JSmith. This account was deactivated and now the user is with a new company and requires access to the CTA e-Builder environment. A new account would be created for the user with the username as cta_JSmith1.
Out of Office Communication:
- If a user will be out of the office and is responsible for reviewing action items in e-Builder, please submit an ASK ticket with the following information:
- Date range time off will last (example, 1/30/2023 - 2/1/2023)
- The name of person who will be responsible for your action items
- The e-Builder Administration team will monitor your account to ensure processes can still route when you are out of the office!
